BULLETIN BOARD
A big part of the joy and purpose of serving in your PTA is
sharing questions and ideas with other PTA members in your community.
We invite you to write us with questions you may have about supporting
your school and your child's education, as well as ideas and suggestions
for other PTAs that have worked well in your school. We will do
the best we can to answer your questions, and will do so in a confidential
manner. If your emails can be shared on this page for the benefit
of others, we will do so in a way that keeps all parties anonymous.
This page will remain "under construction", as we add
your ideas and questions here so other parents and parent leaders
may benefit. Be sure to send pictures that would illustrate your
school successes so we can all enjoy them. Email office@meckpta.org
with subject line: Bulletin Board.
Also, come and visit us and join the discussion on
our Facebook page; Groups:
Mecklenburg PTA Council.
Thank you for sharing ideas and questions with other parents
in the Mecklenburg PTA Community.

GENERAL TOPICS
1. Once you have registered to
volunteer, do you have to re-register every year?
If you've registered as of December 2008, you do not have to
ever register again.
Answer from : Samantha Evans, Director, Office of Strategic
Partnerships, CMS
2. I have 4 kids that attend 4
different schools, how many PTA memberships should my wife and I
have to buy to be in good standing with each school, NCPTA and National?
Each PTA is a separate organization. You would have to join at
each school’s PTA in order to have voting rights at each
PTA. You do have to be a member of each PTA if you were planning
on serving on the PTA board in some way at each one.
Kyle Robertson, NCPTA President
REFLECTIONS 2010-2011
1. Is there a Parental Consent form?
The “Parental Consent form” has been removed from
the handbook this year. It caused a lot of confusion last year.
We may bring it back next year, but for the 2009-10 Reflections,
it is not a form we are using.
2. How do I find out how my school can participate in Reflections?
If you look at the state website, www.NCPTA.org, under "PTA Information", there is a tab on the left for Reflections. The "Reflections Basics" tab will give you all the information you will need to participate. Other forms, requirements, and restrictions are listed under the "Required Forms" tab. Our local dates for submissions are listed as well as the state and national information.
You can also visit this site for more information.
Any PTA/PTSA in good standing is eligible to sponsor a Reflections Program. Rules and deadlines differ from state to state; contact your state PTA for more information.
